About Us

Growing up in the Hudson Valley as an avid biker, I used to ride all the different beautiful trail segments around the state on my biking adventures. Then, in 2020, I saw the Empire State Trail launch. It connected it all to bring a state-wide trail system to life - and I wanted to do whatever I could to create a community around it.

As a brand-new trail system, I wanted to build elements around the trail - what I felt was missing. A community of bikers, hikers and people who love the outdoors of our beautiful state, and a place for them to share their stories of the new trail so it can continue to improve. A haven of resources that are in short supply for and along the new trail: trail lodging recommendations and deals, favorite sections to visit, and boosting local products and businesses that fill the Empire State with life.

That’s what you’ll find here at Empire State Trail Outfitters. A community of people just like you, who love the outdoors, love their state, and love their trails. A place for you to share your story and to enter into others. An incentive for you to earn rewards for completing the trail. And a journal for you to browse trusted day trips and trail tips from people who have biked the amazing Empire State Trail.
